There are many opportunities to give of your time, talents and treasure at CDLC. We have several volunteer needs throughout the year. You may also give financially to our general operating fund or towards scholarships, donate supplies, or give from appreciated securities or planned giving.
Ways to Give
Cash and Check: You may send cash or checks to school with your child or mail to the CDLC office at 13801 Fairview Drive, Burnsville, MN 55337.
Automatic Giving: Automatic gifts may be given weekly, semi-monthly or monthly by electronic transfer of funds from a bank account. Complete a CDLC Authorization Form and return it to the CDLC office for processing.
Gifts in Kind: Please contact the CDLC office at 952-435-8105 to donate toys and supplies to the school.
CDLC General Operations
As you may guess CDLC goes through a lot of paint and paper in a year, not to mention crackers! Your tax-deductible donation to the CDLC General Operations Fund will help CDLC to continue to provide quality preschool programming at an affordable price. Thank you for your support!
Your gift to one of our scholarship funds will allow children to attend CDLC who might not otherwise have this wonderful opportunity because of family economic circumstances. Research shows that access to quality preschool sets the stage for future success in school. Your gift is an investment in another child’s life.
General Scholarship Fund
All funds received are allocated in the same year for the immediate needs of scholarship assistance.
Karen Dwyer Scholarship Fund
“Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will never be shortened.” – Author unknown
Karen Dwyer was definitely that candle. For over 20 years she let her light shine through the children she taught and the friendships she made. In the spring of 2007 the CDLC community lost a dear friend and valued staff member when Karen passed away after a prolonged battle with breast cancer. She faced this battle with courage, dignity, strength, and, typical of Karen, a smile for everyone she encountered. She is deeply missed, but her spirit lives on.
We have established a Karen Dwyer Scholarship Fund to provide scholarships for children who otherwise might not be able to attend CDLC preschool. The money we have received thus far has been put in an investment fund, with the intention to draw off a portion of the interest each year in order to provide scholarships.
It is our hope that the fund will continue to grow, providing educational opportunities for generations to come. To accomplish this, we need to get the word out and we are asking for your help. Any donation would be welcome.
We are asking that you might consider giving a tax-deductible gift to the Karen Dwyer Scholarship Fund. Karen had a passion for education and an amazing ability to inspire children to learn. Please help us ensure that her gift of knowledge will continue to be passed on to children, the light of Karen’s life.
We are always looking for donations to our school. The writing area could always use paper, stickers, crayons, markers, and envelopes. For the accidents that happen in a child’s life, we could use gently used boy and girl pants and shorts.
Gifts of appreciated securities (stocks, mutual funds, bonds) may also be donated to CDLC, and may provide significant tax benefits to the donor. Talk with your tax advisor. Please note that gifts of appreciated securities, and particularly mutual funds, may need additional time to process and will need the attention of your financial advisor/broker well before December 22 to be sure the transfer is completed by the end of the tax year. Fax the stock donation form below to 952‐898‐9397, “Attention: Jane Victorey,” or contact Jane at 952‐898‐9313 or email.
Planned gift, deferred gift, estate gift – different names for a way to manage your affairs, plan for the future, and make a gift to CDLC. Talk with your tax advisor. To notify CDLC of your planned gift, fax the letter of intent form below to 952‐898‐9397, “Attention: Jane Victorey,” or contact Jane at 952‐898‐9313 or email.
