Helping your child realize the value of education is extremely important. Your presence at school is one way to show your love and encouragement. The children and the staff invite you to come to school to volunteer your time and talents. We value you as a volunteer, and appreciate your dedication to the children as a supportive aide, role model, and mentor. We know your time is at a premium, but we hope this invitation will empower you to volunteer.
THANKS FOR VOLUNTEERING!
Advisory Committee Volunteer
The Child Development & Learning Center (CDLC) is committed to providing its students with many opportunities and experiences through which to explore, learn and grow. To improve our programs, curriculum, and school, we have created a Parent Advisory Committee. To be effective and relevant, we believe it is critical that representatives from Prince of Peace, parents, and CDLC staff all have an opportunity to provide input and service on this committee.
Help with Car Duty before or after school. It takes approximately 15 minutes before or after school.
Have fun for a good cause! We need parents to help plan and coordinate our annual carnival.
We appreciate the efforts of all of our volunteers to make the carnival a fun day for all! Please consider volunteering as a family. Mom can volunteer for the first work session while Dad wanders with the children and then Dad can volunteer the second session while Mom has some fun with the children. Even your older children can help out and earn those much needed community service hours!
Halloween/Christmas Parent Events
Donate food for parent events.
We need one couple per session to play Mary and Joseph for the Christmas programs (preferably with their own Baby Jesus).
There are several areas that need help each month. Sign up one time or to help each month.
We need people to take pictures at various times throughout the year.
Share Your Time or Talents
Share your hobbies, occupations, collections. Play a musical instrument. Do you know of an interesting presentation for preschoolers?
Arrive at school 5-10 minutes before school begins to receive instructions. Work with up to 5 classes, one at a time, for 30 minutes each. Teachers are present with the classes. You will help to measure, mix, roll, cut, or bake a cooking activity with the children.
Call Me If You Need Me!
From time to time we need an extra set of hands. Sometimes we have advance notice and sometimes we don’t.
